Hi there....
My name is Andrew Ivanov, I'm a 20 year old Comp. Sci student at UMC, which is University of Missouri, Columbia. And so, due to my future profession, I spend most of my free time online. READ: I am online all the time. And it is actually much faster to reach me on the email , or ICQ. What do I do online? I don't know, really. I check my email, read some news groups, but really I just work on my programming assignments. Sometimes I get out on the net and waste my time playing a MUD or something similar.
That is me, up there. I might not look like a CS guy, but I am.
Current marital status: very single. But I think I have a lead.
Lets see....I do have hobbies.(Really...) I try to read a new book every week or so, although my taste in literature varies..
Update: I seem to have read all the Stephen King books I could find in the university library, so I switched to Tom Clancy. The "Just Java 1.2" is a very bad 'before-going-to-sleep' reading. I'm also out of Dilbert books (missing 3 out of 13, I forget which 3), and I've memorized the 10 I have.
Sometimes I play games. Computer games, that is. The latest one I've been playing is StarCraft. AFAICT, it's fun.
Updated: Now the latest one I played is Doom and XCOM 2. C'mon... nothing wrong with oldies.
I like different types of music, it all just depends on my mood.
Update: The latest discovery is 10,000 Maniacs. Other than that, I seem to have a collection of instrumentals ( I don't remember getting that many CDs... did someone drop them off at my place?). Jean M. Jarre is quite good for listening to, especially when playing some flight simulator games or space games like Elite (You did play Elite, right?) Oh, btw, I am working with some other people on Elite-like game, called Galileo.
But right now I am busy with my classes, and playing around with Linux. Thats addictive too....if you havent tried it, try it. Maybe then you'll realize that you've been ripped off by Micro$oft.
Update: The monitor on my Linux box is going bad, so I switched to backup Windoze machine. Besides, I'm in Java class right now, and we happened to be using JDK1.2, which is sort of ported to Linux. The keyword is Sort of. But each day spent working in Windows (Thank god for Emacs port!) just makes me appreciate Linux more and more.
Anyway, feel free to email me at c680789@showme.missouri.edu or use ICQ. My number there is 12402354. Andrew
I am running Debian distribution of Linux. Join up today, and forget about spending fortune on software for your Windows. This is the age of OpenSource. And besides, Linux is better.....if you are smart enough, that is.
Specs: P200 (Was 166, I just overclocked it), 32M Physical RAM, 64M and 30M Swap spaces, RAIDed. SVGA server for S3 ViRGE/DX 4M card, VooDoo accelerator (Can't get it to work with Mesa, though).
This is just silly, but anyway...
